Anjali and I went to dinner (lunch? it was 3pm) in downtown Natick yesterday. We met by the Bakery on the Common (and I was only 30 seconds late coming in on my bike). We decided to go to Dah-Mee on the street with the library and the liquor store and Agostino's. Anjali made fun of me because the liquor store was the first thing I came up with as a landmark. I blame Dan. We went over there with a minimum of jaywalking, and both entrances of Dah-Mee had a couple steps and signs encouraging one to use the accessible entrance just around the corner. We went into the first available entrance, and came into a darkened restaurant— an elevated platform in a very closed-feeling section inside the restaurant.

I stepped down and asked in the kitchen if they were open. They said sure, and asked where we came from. The accessible entrance, I said. They said their front door had no stairs. We said, no, it does, we went by two doors with steps. It wasn't until after I walked to the front door – indeed, level with the ground – and looked out and came back in that I realized we were in Agostino's.

I had vaguely noticed the people looked sort of white...

We went back out the way we came – noting the unmarked door to Dah-Mee is immediately on the entrance of the building – and went in the front entrance of Agostino's and ate there. We sort of felt obligated after barging in their back entrance.
