In loving, living memory, John Melançon 1928 – 2007
First, i'd like to note that i am aware that $65 for a parking ticket is already a major bargain discount in New York City. But i was with an experienced New Yorker, we looked forever for a spot, and it was a clearly labeled "not during street sweeper hours" area, not a no-parking-daytimes as the ticket claims.
i can't figure out how to challenge the ticket. # 794463522-6 - and license is 4925KS
can find the ticket via nyc.gov/finance but not how to dispute it
i can pay it online, though the reduction in my respect for the NYC government may be dangerous for both them and me
ah got it. http://www.nyc.gov/html/dof/html/parking/park_tickets_dispute.shtml
Oh my god. They are already trying to cut a deal: " Based upon the violation number you entered, this ticket is eligible for a settlement offer. This means we are offering you the opportunity to pay a reduced fine. By accepting this offer, you are waiving your right to a hearing and agreeing to pay the reduced fine within 30 days."
$22 off simply for searching for the ticket through their dispute link rather than the 'pay online' link. I am disgusted.
it's the plea bargain in microcosm. Have until June 20 to decide if you can make it down and do photographic evidence, we can do a proper challenge. Otherwise i can pay $43 sometime.
To the other Agarics: Do not even try to park in Manhattan.
