my unsolicited advice: you should go to a place [with a dozen or more people] at a fairly high level-- a lead consulting role, a lead design role. If it's a "we hire you and you prove yourself and move up / to different things" attitude (usually unspoken), that doesn't seem a good fit
you shouldn't have to prove yourself and more importantly you WILL prove yourself, but not necessarily in a manner, style that will be recognized
my younger brother I would tell him to take a job as janitor at a good company. He'll end up running it. And it's not even a matter of being aggressive so much as just playing by some social rules I don't even know about
but I know other people who had to switch companies or be hired back as a consultant to break out of the role they started in
competence and skill recognized, generally, but not necessarily both used and rewarded.
