In loving, living memory, John Melançon 1928 – 2007
Today, 2008 February 10, Sunday, 7:30 a.m. I Benjamin Maurice Melançon will not look at any more online comics
Period.
Except ones sent to me.
So if you're really kind, you'll send me links to good Non Sequitur or Ted Rall or Pears Before Swine or anything once in a while.
Also I will no more partake in going to Counterpunch, Common Dreams, or similar random browsing of news and opinion.
Same here– if you're kind and care about my mental health and awareness of the world, you'll send me some facts and analysis once in a while.
But for now, there's a world to win and reading about it hasn't cut it.

Going pretty well so far
I had to look up an xkcd comic to send a friend, and saw a new one (but I won't click that link, and you will, mwa-ha-ha-ha, and Cathy so kindly sent me a whole e-mail of Sunday funnies.
Hoped-for productivity gains haven't arisen, as I'm still ADHD and there's so much Drupal and politics going on, but the web pledge thing seems to work, so here's another: no more eating alone, and I missed breakfast with Mom and Dan and Tom weren't interested in eating, so it's turning into a Wednesday fast– which was my last unsuccessful attempt to eat in a more balanced way. I fasted no problem, most Wednesdays, and would eat normally on Thursdays usually, but in the next couple days I'd still eat an insane amount of food for no reason in particular. This is an ethical issue for me (I'm not overweight), there's no way my body's really processing all the food I eat, I'm just wasting it. The food was also a productivity issue, an escape from work– spend time eating and eating and then go into a food coma. So here's to moderate eating and togetherness and still finding ways not to be productive!
