Monday evening after leaving Mary's work (SAIC) and an amazing meal at the Chicago Diner (vegan Philadelphia cheesesteak, polenta lasagna, and chocolate mousse and chocolate chip carrot cheesecake – we shared all our dishes) Mary showed me the immigrant justice mural a healthy walk from her apartment in the now heavily Mexican Pilsen neighborhood. I spotted some old machines with wheels and had Mary look and she said they are small printing presses, not set up yet, in the Yollocalli space. She will follow up!

Rochester, New York, via Amtrak, with Fox.

Heather and Afam look like they are doing really well, even as they go through the stressful time of the two of them applying to law school and medical school simultaneously!

Heather fed us well-- a beautiful arrangement of hummos and carrots and salsa and chips and more, desert of dates and entirely fake wafers that I could have, and pasta the first night and vegan chili she somehow had waiting in their freezer.

Awesomeness.

Thursday after meeting an Agaric client in Cambridge.

Excellent evening.

Walked the dogs in the common-type area of Roslindale and to the store where Laura works.

Ate at a Japanese place with some Korean dishes -- I had the one i keep forgetting but Dan remembers, ends in bop or something,

Fantastic evening. I don't see Brian enough. Dan is trying to move to Natick so I should start seeing him enough! Steve owns a Honda Insight so he is beyond cool already.

After meeting a few Drupallers at Lala Rokh I caught up with the male contingent of the bridal party, not at the top of the hub in the Prudential Center where I didn't go up to find them but at the next location, Cigarmasters on Boyleston Street.

Saturday night. Quite fun.

I gave him my 'real' external hard drive (most impressive casing) for his birthday and told him to treasure the random data i left on it forever.

Rich, Manda, and Andrew went— and arrived before me.

Manda brought excellent, truly excellent vegan and gluten free brownies -- the brownies themselves were excellent, with carrots and raisins in there somehow, and there were vegan and non-vegan versions of the frosting (the vegan was sugar, margarine, and tofutti cream cheese, making that the first cream cheese of any kind that I liked).

Skype call and a we think NAT-related issue with taxonomy terms becoming their own parents and children on Ventus (treated but not cured) were the work, uh, highlights.

Lucky enough to spend some time with Anjali, including a lovely, carefully if impromptu arranged vegan dinner at the Forber-Pratt's, before she heads back to Illinois tomorrow, and then to Bermuda to speak on behalf of the Paralympian Association -- she was asked to do this on Thursday i think.

Dan made cauliflower soup. With almond milk, yellow bell pepper, garlic, and lots of tahini hummos. We could eat pureed vegetable all day.

Also sitting in on the klezmer playing session at the Boston skillshare at Ash's insistence. I hover at the door and then walk in, and I have to say loved how it sounds so... Jewish.

Teacher is playing an accordian, there's a guy on saxaphone, a girl on a trombone, a girl on flute, and Ash on ukulele and a guy on a sorta large triangle shaped ukulele type thing.

And then when they lay, it's all familiar, though I have heard almost no actual klezmer in my life, just the traditional melodies that are part of it.

Mostly in 2, 4, 3, our leader says, but all kinds of different rhythms.

i think i'll explain religion to my nephews as, you know how when your teacher makes a weird rule? well religion is when that weird rule has been followed by too many people for too long :-)
